I am an associate in Field Fisher Waterhouse LLP’s Competition and EU Regulatory Law Group.
First and foremost, I am a football fan. After completing my law degree with a dissertation on the Bosman ruling, I embarked on a Masters Degree in Competition Law and European Football Broadcasting Rights. Since I became a solicitor, my studies have helped me to provide advice on a number of football regulatory, disciplinary and broadcasting issues. As well as posting blog articles on this site I write for various competition, media and sports law journals. These include The World Sports Law Report, The Entertainment Law, Sport Business and The Entertainment and Sports Law Journal.
I regularly provide comment and analysis for Sky Sports News, Sky News, the BBC, CNN,
the Daily Telegraph, the Independent, Bloomberg, TV2, BBC Radio 4, TalkSport and FCBusiness.
I have delivered papers at sports conferences on European football broadcasting rights, multiple club ownership, European competition law issues relating to broadcasts outside an exclusive territory and third party ownership rights issues stemming from the Tevez decision.
I have partnered with www.Beyondthepitch.net to provide interviews on topical issues in the football world.
I am the editor of a football law publication called On the Ball. I have also lectured at a number of universities on contemporary issues in the field of sports law.
